On Tuesday the 11 June, 8 year 3 and 4 gymnasts represented Tauriko School at the gymsports competitions at ARGOS, in the Springers division. They had all been training one lunchtime a week, since the beginning of the year and the improvements they had all made were staggering! Each gymnast completed a floor, vault and beam routine. There were over 100 girls from all parts of Tauranga and Rotorua competing at this event.
The results were:
Jenny Mackinnon 1st overall
Peta Elliott 2nd overall
Casey Rendell 4th overall
Sara Esterman 9th overall
These girls won first place in the teams event. Jenny, Peta and Casey have been selected to compete in the ‘Best of the Best’ competition to be held later in the term.
Also competing to an extremely high standard were: Amy Campbell, Lucy Mackay, Eliza Fellows and Madison Lennane.
I would like to say an enormous congratulations to each girl on her commitment, dedication and perseverance. The results speak for themselves. What a fantastic effort.
Also I would like to say a big thank you to Madison’s mum, Julie, who had each girl looking fabulous with their hair French plaited.
