Congratulations to all those year 5 and 6 gymnasts who performed to such a high standard at the ARGOS gymsport competition, in the last week of term 2. Jessica James had an outstanding competition in the Flyers division, finishing first overall and receiving the gold medal! Fantastic!
The Flyers girls’ team of Katelyn Dyer, Talia Moore, Jessica James and Emma Kennedy finished third overall against tough competition. Also representing Tauriko School to a high standard was Paige Bowles, Brieanne Buttery, Anna Meikle and Keally Kereopa.
The Flyers boys’ team of Kees Tucker, Brendan McLelland and Haki Rawiri were very competitive and received high scores on their 3 apparatus. A great effort for a first competition, boys!
The Twisters girls were the last competition of the day. This was an exceptionally high level of competition and our gymnasts were outstanding, both in the performance of their routines and their presentation.
Congratulations to Keilani Worthen who finished second overall and received a score of 9.5 on the vault! Also, well done to our silver medal winning team of Leah Mackinnon, Charlotte Mackinnon, Keilani Worthen and Arohaina Worthen. Special mention also needs to go to Lucy Jensen, Ellie Richardson and Hannah Rose who were extremely competitive and received fabulous results.
I would just like to say what a pleasure it has been to be involved with all of the gymnasts over the past two terms. They have proven themselves to be committed and have shown huge improvements in their abilities on all apparatus. Congratulations to you all.
I would also like to wish our Bay of Plenty representatives Cristina McCormick, Gemma Taylor, Jessica James, Keilani Worthen, Khan Barnard and Jerushah Keightley all the very best for the ‘Best of the Best’ gymsports competitions next Monday. I have no doubt they will continue to make us extremely proud.
