Play in the Bay - May is Indoors Month!
Don’t let the cool weather stop you keeping active.  Get online or grab a Play in the Bay calendar from your local library to check out all the Indoor activity options throughout May.
The calendar is packed full of beginner recreational opportunities for people of all ages, shapes, sizes and levels of fitness.
Have a go at an indoor sport such as Netball, Badminton, Bowling or Soccer.  Try a martial art like Jiu Jitsu, Taekwondo or Pa Kua.  Perhaps you’d like a more holistic full body workout like Yoga, Tai Chi or Pilates.  Don’t forget about Spin Class, Boxing, Crossfit, Zumba or Step either!
There’s plenty more happening all over the region!   Click here for the full calendar

Thank a Sport Maker Campaign
The Thank a Sport Maker campaign is part of a partnership with the Lotto Volunteer Foundation and Sport New Zealand that will see the Bay of Plenty sharing in over $1 million of quality clothing and sports gear to be awarded to Sport Makers throughout New Zealand over the next three years.
People can show their appreciation for the Sport Makers who blow a whistle, coach, balance the books or help cook the sausages for the fundraising BBQ, by nominating at www.sportbop.co.nz/sportmakers
Each month three volunteers will be awarded, randomly selected from each region - Western, Central and Eastern BOP.   The selected volunteers will receive a certificate of acknowledgement and a prize on behalf of Sport New Zealand, Lotto and Sport Bay of Plenty.  They will also be eligible for the Sport Maker of the Year award at the annual Volunteer Breakfasts where they will receive a $500 voucher.  The Sport Makers will also be a part of the monthly media release that outlines their great service to sport.

Ben Williams Cricket Academy heading to Auckland
Due to an expansion opportunity, we would like to announce that the Ben Williams Cricket Academy will be relocating to Auckland in July 2015.

We would like to extend our sincere thanks to all past and present BWCA members and participants of our academy for many memorable moments and on-going support.

Term 2 training will continue as scheduled in Tauranga. The grass wicket will still be utilised from time-to-time for school holiday clinics so keep an eye on our website for future programmes.

We have an exciting new range of programmes in store for the Auckland cricket community and we look forward to working with many of you in Term 3.
Check out our website for more information and to register your interest.

We will be sad to not have regular contact with our current local members but hope to see a lot of you at our school holiday clinics in Auckland. I have thoroughly enjoyed working with you and your families and wish you all the very best in the future.

Best regards,
Ben Williams
