Waterpolo opportunity


Tauranga Water Polo Club


Under 12 Programme 2015

Players must be under 12 years of age as at January 1st 2015

(born 2003 or later)

Playing for your school water polo team, but want to learn and play more?  Playing year 5/6 flippaball but want to try water polo?     Then the Tauranga Water Polo Club u12 programme may be for you!!! 

The club is pleased to offer competitive and development teams at this level of water polo, beginning with our very own tournament at Baywave for 3 days at Easter – Saturday 4th – Monday 6th April.

The programme for the next six months is outlined below.  While we encourage our A and B team players to be involved for the duration of the season, players may choose one, two or three tournaments to attend. 

Pre season muster, training and trials                                                          Polytech Pool, Windermere

Saturday 28th February, 7th, 14th, 21st, 28th March                                       2.00pm – 4.00pm

Please remember to bring with you;
Togs, towels x2 and goggles
Water bottle
Warm clothes – jersey/polar fleece, tracksuit pants, hat, blanket, footwear
Lunchbox – there is nowhere to buy food

Teams

Teams for the Tauranga tournament will be announced on Sunday 15th March.   Every player will be in a team.  There will be an A team, a B team and as many development teams as we have players for.

Coaches will be assigned a team, and you will train with your team on the last two sessions in March, for one hour, either 2.00 - 3.00pm or 3.00 - 4.00pm.

Tournaments for u12s in 2015

1    Tauranga          Saturday 4th April – Monday 6th April  


2    Mounfort Park, Manurewa Saturday 30th May – Monday 1st June (Queen’s birthday weekend – to be confirmed)

3    Olympic Hopefuls, North Shore Saturday 26th September – Monday 28th September (1st weekend of Sept holidays)

Costs involved

Each tournament costs approximately $115 - $130 per player.  This includes pool hire, tournament entry fees, equipment levy, competitors pass, and club registration fee. Accommodation and food expenses are not included.  Coaches and managers gifts are presented at the end of the season.  Your fee covers this, so no teams are expected to provide gifts during the season. 
 
If you are interested in being part of our u12 programme please contact Dallas Couvee, our club administrator, for an enrolment form.  Remember, at u12 level, you can play any or all of the tournaments for the year.
